VIOLENCE PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP
The idea behind the campaign is a new approach to promoting the personal safety of young people, with a priority on improving their confidence to make their own, positive choices to stay away from crime, violence and to keep them out of harm’s way.
Thames Valley Violence Prevention Partnership got in contact with us to help launch their ‘Stay True to You’ campaign. They are a partnership body supported by a central programme team that bring together representation from policing, local authority community safety, children’s services and social care, prisons and probation, education, youth offending and the voluntary and community sector. The idea behind the campaign is a new approach to promote the personal safety of young people, with a priority on improving their confidence to make their own, positive choices to stay away from crime, violence and to keep them out of harm’s way.

They presented us with a set of documents that needed to be collated together so they could be sent out in a presentable way to all the schools in the Thames Valley district. After a few options were discussed we settled on a presentation folder which inside would contain all the elements. The spec of the job consisted of 2000 x 10mm capacity folders which included 8 documents: cover letter, 12pp & 16pp booklets, 13pp, 12pp & 6pp stapled documents, 4 posters and a business card. We also had to collate the elements into the folders as well as package the job and deliver to the mailing distribution centre. We started with proofing each individual part of the folder; the customer was more than happy with this and to go with our recommendation for the paper spec.
We began production with the folder itself as this would require the longest turnaround. We was also tasked with designing the folder from the logo provided. Whilst these were in production we were able to go ahead and begin producing 2000 copies of all the contents of the folder. A good production plan was required to determine what would be most time and cost effective. With the help of our factory in Nottingham, we were able to pass over the long winded aspects such as the folders and booklets whilst printing the smaller parts in-house in Oxford. This resulted in having everything ready to collate into the folders at the same time.

Fortunately, we were given about 3 months to get the job finished and with the mailing distribution. The overall production time on the job was about 3-4 weeks in total. We were slightly staggered at times whilst awaiting approval of artwork for certain elements, so we were able to schedule in other jobs in-between.
The customer feedback was positive. They were very happy with how efficiently we were able to produce everything. They were particularly happy with the fact they were able to leave the job with us to use our judgement from past experience to give them recommendations on what would be best presentable.
A representative from the Thames Valley Policing team commented;
“John E Wright Printing provide us with fantastic service. They are always so helpful, advising on best options and value while also being flexible to meeting short notice deadlines and other requests. The finished display items and printed materials have been very well received and are part of the success of our wider “Stay True to You” campaign.
“James and the wider team are always a pleasure to work with and we’ll continue to work with them on future jobs.”
